Golf

Golf is a very patient sport, which entail leads to importance of being patient on betting on golf. When betting on golf, bettors have to understand they are not going to get instant action on a wager. Even if is a day wager; a round of golf can sometimes take up to half a day. Most events for golf last up to four days, which often times can swing a bet in many ways.
Golf Wager Types
Match Betting is when a wager is made between more than one golfer. For example, a bettor can place a wager on whether he thinks Tiger Woods or Phil Mickleson will win the Masters. When placing a match bet, both golfers can finish outside of the top spot, and there is still a winner. The wager is strictly made on who will finish with a lower score between the two golfers. When match betting, often times one player will be deemed “favorite” and receive less “even money” and the other will be an “underdog”, and pay out bigger money. For example, Tiger Woods could be listed at (-160) and Phil Mickleson at (+145). In this example, Woods is the favorite, and if he won, it would take a wager of $160 to win $100. If you bet on Mickleson, and he won, a $100 wager would win you $145.
Group betting is another form of wagering within golf. This again is a wager made on a winner within a certain group taking the course. The winner of this bet, once again is the golfer with the lowest score at the end of the event.
Round betting is another form of Golf Betting. When betting on a round, the winner is based on who scores the lowest during one round of the tournament. For example, if you placed a round bet on Jim Furyk to win the opening round of the US Open, he would have to beat the entire field. This type of betting can lead to some big time payouts, but also has a rare chance of winning.
There are also prop bets for golf. When making a prop bet, these are certain events that will happen within a specific round. An example of a prop bet could be “Will any player score under 65 in the round?” For this type of bet, for varying odds, you can wager whether any one player scores under 65 or not. Another form of prop bet for golf could be: “Will any player score a hole in one during the round?”. Once again, this is either a yes or no type bet.
Golf Betting Advice
Bet on Tiger Woods! Well, not always, but there is a reason he is the best golfer in the world. We understand his recent debacles with his life, but when he gets back in a groove, look for him to be a lock within the betting industry for golf.
When betting on golf, be sure to do plenty of research ahead of time. Golfers have tendencies, such as performing better on longer courses, or struggling on courses with quick greens. Take these measures into account before placing a bet. Also, the closer you get to an event, the best odds you will receive. There is no big hurry to place a bet on an event, unless you feel it is the best you will find it, and it will only get worse.
